Rock Rapids, IA (March 25, 2015) – In the midst of his first professional supercross season, Ignite Christian Academy graduate Jordon Smith finished fourth at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis on Saturday, March 15.
Smith is a member of the GEICO Honda team competing in the 2015 Monster Energy Supercross. According to an interview with Arenacross, his lifelong dream of becoming a professional racer began when he was four years old and he started riding circles on a home-mowed track in his grandparents' field.
Smith moved to Millsaps Training Facility in Cairo, Georgia, at age 11 to pursue his racing career and enrolled at Ignite Christian Academy in 2010 to finish high school while chasing his dreams. The online academy for grades K-12 serves students around the globe and accommodates students with unique pursuits by offering a flexible schedule. Smith completed his high school coursework around his training schedule and graduated from ICA in 2014.
After overcoming several injuries over the past few years, Smith made the jump into professional racing in January of 2015. He hopes his top 4 finish at Indianapolis is an early indication of the success he can accomplish when competing again at full health.
Currently ranked number 20 in 250 Supercross East, Smith continues his rookie season at the Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis, Missouri, on March 28. To follow his progress and the 2015 point standings, visit amasupercross.com.
