If you’re thinking about online distance learning but are concerned about limiting your student’s social interaction, have no fear! At Ignite Christian Academy, we help students connect to each other in a variety of ways so they can enjoy the community feeling of a traditional school, right from the comfort of home. Here, you can find online groups that share your student’s experiences, offer advice, and give peer support.
Students thrive when they can be themselves. Not only does our online academy have online social interaction options, but the convenience of online learning allows your learner to pursue activities, music, sports, and friendships that might not be possible in a typical school schedule.
National Honor Society
Ignite Christian Academy maintains an active chapter of the National Honor Society, which semi-annually admits academically eligible sophomores, juniors, and seniors upon invitation of the faculty. NHS members must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.5 and are recognized for outstanding academics leadership, character, and community service.
NHS members can compete for National Honor Society scholarships. At graduation ceremonies, NHS members are also recognized. The purpose of the National Honor Society is to create enthusiasm for scholarship, to stimulate a desire to render service, to promote leadership, and to develop character in the students of secondary schools (NHS National Constitution, Article I, Section 2).
Student ID Cards
Ignite Christian Academy offers enrolled students free, personalized student ID cards. Full-color, laminated IDs give our online academy learners the ability to prove student status and be recognized for student-only discounts by outside organizations and businesses. IDs also help promote a sense of belonging and community spirit to online learners.
Student IDs include a submitted photograph of the student, the logo and school name, the student’s name and address, the student’s phone number, the ID’s date of expiration, and logos of our accrediting bodies. IDs measure 3.25 in. by 2 in. Enrolled K-12 students are not required to hold a student ID but are encouraged to receive one to prove student status. Student IDs expire one year from issue date.
Student of the Month
In our monthly eNewsletter, we feature an outstanding student as student of the month. Nominated by teachers, this student is selected to be showcased in a feature article, including personal photo, and direct quotes from the student. Students are selected on merit of their outstanding character, academic standing, and extracurricular activities.
