Ignite Christian Academy is proud to celebrate high school student, Amelia Lancaster, and her ability to pursue her rodeo extracurriculars while also excelling in her academics.
Amelia and her family live on a cattle ranch where her mom, Jessica, homeschools her and her two siblings. It was important to Jessica that Amelia have an accredited curriculum so she could pursue college without any hiccups. Mornings are spent homeschooling as a family which allows Amelia the freedom to practice rodeo when she wants and help around the ranch as needed.
Why I Love ICA
One of the best things I like about homeschooling is the amount of flexibility that it gives us as a family to do other things… We all rodeo, so we’re gone almost every other weekend just for the rodeos. (ICA) has really helped me because I can do school from anywhere and not worry about falling behind as much as I would with a normal school where I have to go in four of five days a week.
The top things that homeschool benefits me is being able to travel a lot and taking the afternoons off so I can get the practice I need for my sport, and just being able to do it whenever I want, not being able or not having to stick to a strict schedule… It really opens up a lot of opportunities for people.
We hope you enjoyed getting to know Amelia! If you would like to be featured as a student of the month, talk to your parents and submit your story to marketing.
