The March 2022 student of the month at Ignite Christian Academy (ICA) is Carson Ball, a junior from southwestern Missouri. A first-year student at ICA, Carson has received Christ as his personal Savior, and he has reflected that in his coursework.
“Carson works diligently in Bible class,” wrote Eric Hamper, who nominated Carson for student of the month. “He has a spiritual maturity beyond his years, a great perspective on life, and a solid understanding of Scripture.”
My ICA Story
This is my first year at ICA. Some of my good friends told me about it, and I decided to enroll. I wanted to be able to have more control over my schedule, so I could practice and compete in rodeos.
Why I Love ICA
My favorite parts of online learning are that I can stay home with my family and I’m able to learn at my own pace. I can work ahead and move along faster if possible, or if I need more time to understand the content, I am able to get the help I need. A cool feature of the teaching is that I can schedule a meeting with a teacher any time and receive assistance. I didn’t expect that.
My Favorite Subject
My favorite subject is Bible because it brings me closer to God and builds a stronger connection with Him.
My Family
I have a lot of family here in Missouri. I have one younger brother, and we like to play basketball together.
My Hobbies
I like to ride my horses and practice roping calves. I’m also a big fan of classic rock music.
My Dream Job
I would be a professional cowboy and rope calves for a living. This would include training horses, holding clinics, and mentoring youth rodeo competitors.
My Goals
I want to go to college and continue with my rodeo career. I want to start a business building pipe fence.
My Words of Wisdom
Positive thoughts lead to positive outcomes. Also, don’t miss the fun parts of life.
