See You at the Pole is a prayer rally where students meet at a school flagpole before school to lift up their friends, families, teachers, school, and nation to God. This September‘s event marks the third year that Ignite Christian Academy has created a venue for our students to participate in this global day of student prayer.
ICA is uniquely positioned to respond to this call to prayer. With students in all 50 states and 42 countries other than the United States, we cannot all gather around a flagpole at a single address in a single community. However, we can offer prayers for the students of these countries and the communities in which we live right from our homes and also participate communally with fellow ICA students via the Internet and ICA's See You at the Pole WebEx link.
On Wednesday, September 26, ICA will host See You at the Pole prayer times at 9:30 a.m. (CT) and 3:30 p.m. (CT). Both times will use the same WebEx link.
This year's theme, Awaken, is based on the prayer of the apostle Paul as recorded in Ephesians 3:14-21 (please check it out). In this prayer, Paul desires that his friends awaken in a fresh way to the endless possibilities of what only God can do! The question for us is how many of us have such a desire for our peers at ICA and also for the students in your local community or private schools, schools of the country in which you are currently residing, or perhaps your former school?
In our regular Monday prayer times, we intercede for one another in our Ignite Christian Academy community. On Wednesday, September 26, we will unite via WebEx to intercede for students everywhere. We know that our students care about people, and we are certain they also care about their peers in schools other than ICA.
As you plan to participate, please create your own sentence prayer that you would bring to God for the student group He places on your heart. Then, during our prayer time, you will have opportunity to include this sentence prayer. If you have used the phone to call in, you will be able to read your sentence prayer. If you have used a headset plugged into your computer, you can share your sentence prayer with everyone by typing it into the chat box.
The goal of this day, not only for us at the academy, but for all who participate anywhere is that "an unusual outpouring of the Spirit of God takes place and awakens the hearts of students on campuses in every community, throughout the world!"
