Graduation season wrapped up in June at Ignite Christian Academy, with approximately 350 seniors receiving a diploma from the online school this year.
Following the excitement at the Dallas graduation ceremony, 41 graduates from across the world tuned in to ICA's virtual graduation ceremony on May 22, 2015.
Dr. Mary Ellen Quint, ICA teacher and member of the team that wrote the original textbooks that started Alpha Omega Publications, gave the virtual graduation address live from the campus of Dordt College in Sioux Center, Iowa. She encouraged the seniors to be Christ's presence in the world, living out His command to go and teach all nations by trusting God, putting Him first, and discerning His plan for their lives by spending time in His word.
On June 5, ICA hosted its third and final graduation ceremony for the class of 2015 in Orlando, Florida. Twenty-eight students gathered with friends and family to celebrate their accomplishments, several of whom live abroad in the countries of Bermuda, Canada, Guatemala, and Ukraine.
During the ceremony, an overarching theme to trust in the Lord shone through each speaker's message. ICA graduate Christina S. encouraged her classmates to trust in God, His word, and the wisdom of those that God has placed in our lives. Fellow classmate Darryl H. emphasized that change is a vital component of growth and moving forward, and that through change we need to trust in God and let him direct us. The commencement address was given by Kristen Hogrefe, a Christian school teacher and Christian fiction author who challenged the students to make themselves available for God's work, again requiring our trust in Him.
The presentation of diplomas near the end of the ceremony was accompanied by the cheers of friends and family. A special thanks to all who joined us to help celebrate the class of 2015!
