On Friday, May 1, Ignite Christian Academy held its fourth annual Academy Spelling Bee. Thirteen students in grades 1-6 participated in this year's event, with 5th grader Faith P. taking the 2015 title of super speller!
Hosted by the elementary department, this year's competition began with words from the 1st grade level which increased in difficulty with each passing round. Teachers were able to see students on camera while they spelled out words such as pioneer, circus, express, and laughter.
In addition to thanking all students for their participation, ICA teachers want to acknowledge Daniel, the only 1st grader to enter the competition this year. He kept up with the older participants and successfully made it to the round of third grade words. Way to go!
