Rock Rapids, IA – (June 7, 2011) Ignite Christian Academy recently held several annual regional graduation ceremonies for the class of 2011. Ceremonies were held in Arlington, Texas on May 6; in Orlando, Florida on May 27; and in Washington, D.C. on June 2. Forty-eight seniors and their families were in attendance at graduation ceremonies. The total number of seniors graduating from ICA for the 2010-2011 school year was 259.
Assistant Principal Deborah Secord, who attended the Arlington and Orlando ceremonies, said, "Our regional ICA graduations were a time of celebrating student achievement with both students and parents. It was exciting to meet our students and parents face-to-face and to get to know those who had become a part of our lives."
Ceremonies were held in designated hotels and included a presentation of high school diplomas to seniors, an inspirational address by the keynote speaker, and the opportunity to meet members of the ICA staff and faculty. National Honor Society members were also recognized during the ceremonies, and receptions followed.
Seniors and their families had the option to attend a day-away field trip the day before the ceremony. Locations for field trips were selected out of three options and voted on by attendees. The locations for field trips were the Dallas World Aquarium in Arlington, Texas; the Orlando Science Center in Orlando, Florida; and the National Aquarium in Washington, D.C.
