It is with pleasure that Ignite Christian Academy introduces a new principal, Mr. Joseph Bakker, and assistant principal, Mr. Tim De Jong.
Both Bakker and De Jong hold extensive experience in the field of education, equipping them to fulfill their new roles at the academy.
Bakker has been with Ignite Christian Academy for the past six years. During that time, he has served as an academy math teacher, lead math teacher, project manager, and dean of Ignite Christian Academy.
"Joe brings strong skills and knowledge of our systems, processes, and personnel needs," said Tami Murray, Vice President of Operations at Ignite Christian Academy. "He is able to respond to any issue presented to him quickly, fairly, and effectively."
According to Bakker, his attention to detail and commitment to quality education strengthen his ability to serve the academy as principal. "I have a strong background in educational technology and distance learning, and look forward to the opportunity to expand the educational opportunities that ICA offers to its students," he said.
De Jong has served Ignite Christian Academy as an academic advisor and lead education coordinator. "I am hard working, open minded, and want the best interest of the academy and students," he said. As assistant principal, De Jong works closely with teachers to continuously build up academics and enhance the student experience at ICA.
Murray said De Jong's previous leadership experience equips him to take on the role of assistant principal at the academy. "Tim is not afraid to lead and take on tough challenges when they are put before him," she said.
As De Jong and Bakker settle into their new roles, they both express excitement at the chance to focus on student needs and enhance educational growth opportunities for students at Ignite Christian Academy.
"I am excited by the unique skills and strengths that both Joe and Tim bring to ICA," said Murray. "Their differences will complement each other by providing the ability to look at situations from all angles and their similarities will give ICA the ability to maintain our strong foundation."
