Rock Rapids, IA – (January 11, 2011) Ignite Christian Academy®, a fully accredited distance learning academy that provides Bible-based courses for grades K-12, promotes college entrance testing by encouraging seniors and juniors to register for and complete the SAT® (Scholastic Aptitude Test) and ACT® (American College Testing) examinations. ICA juniors and seniors may register for either examination at each testing service's respective websites.
Various locations and dates are available for taking the ACT and SAT. A fee is charged for each time students take the test. Students may re-take tests as often as they choose. Most colleges and universities recognize the highest examination score achieved when considering admission. If on a college-bound track, ICA students are encouraged to register as soon as possible and take exam of their choice multiple times if possible, as college admission policies often require a minimum ACT or SAT score, along with transcript grades and cumulative GPAs.
Many college scholarships and federal aid awards also consider ACT or SAT scores when determining student funding. Because of this, ICA students who plan to attend college are encouraged to prepare for these exams as they advance through high school. Students should add ICA's school code to the exam so ICA can record their scores on transcripts. ICA students may contact their academy services representative for ICA's school code and to discuss which entrance exam is best to take.
"The ACT or SAT is vital step in the college application process. It provides students with the opportunity to showcase their skills and knowledge to prospective colleges and universities. "said Joe Bakker, Ignite Christian Academy project manager.
