Rock Rapids, IA (October 8, 2014) – Ignite Christian Academy is pleased to announce the release of four new courses for Ignitia online curriculum, with a fifth slated for release soon.
Ranging in topic from career and test preparation to physical education, the courses provide students with academic, life, and career skills to be used in high school, college, and beyond.
Middle School Courses
Career Explorations I introduces 7th and 8th grade students to careers in health, hospitality, tourism, human services, and consumer services. The online elective prepares students to enroll in career-centered high school electives that prep them for college and the workforce.
Career Explorations II gives online students an inside look at careers in computers, computer support, agriculture, natural resources, and STEM. Perfect for students who want to explore careers in technology and those who know the field is right for them, the online course helps 7th and 8th graders discover which high school computer courses to take.
High School Courses
ACT Test Prep equips students in grades 9-12 to conquer the college entrance exam with content-specific instruction in English, math, reading, science, and writing. Put students' skills to the test at the end of the course with four full-length ACT practice exams.
Physical Education covers the basic rules, fundamental skills, and history of several popular sports. Ideal for beginners, the course also serves as a helpful refresher for students with advanced skills. Physical Education also is available in Switched-On Schoolhouse.

Careers in Allied Health is a high school elective that helps students explore careers in health care. Keep an eye on the ICA blog for updates regarding the release of Careers in Allied Health and other new ICA courses.
