Over 200 gathered to honor 16 Ignite Christian Academy graduates on May 4 in Arlington, Texas.
The celebration began in the morning as eight graduates accompanied by parents and families met at the Dallas World Aquarium for the "Day Away" event. During this trip students met their classmates while taking in all the animals. There were all kinds of fish and birds, crocodiles, manatees, penguins, snakes, and much more. Afterwards, we explored the gift shop where ICA senior Shane bought a croaking wooden frog sure to drive his parents crazy.
The formal celebration began later that evening at the ceremony. The room was packed full of family and friends eager to cheer on the graduates in their success. The ceremony began with an address from Olivia Simeon, a graduate who travelled all the way from Guam to attend the ceremony. She shared impact that Jesus Christ has had on her life and the importance of leaning on him in all that we do. Next, Rev. Roger Bouwman, ICA history and Bible teacher, gave the graduate address. He challenged the graduates and everyone in attendance to live deliberately by following the instruction that God has given to us in the Bible.
The faculty and staff of Ignite Christian Academy would like to congratulate all of the graduates of 2012.
Graduation ceremonies will also take place in Sioux Center, Iowa on May 25 and Orlando, Florida on June 1. The May 25 Sioux Center ceremony will streamed live online being at 7 p.m. (CST). All ICA families are welcome to watch. To watch, go to the Virtual Campus for the link and instructions.
