Q: Our family travels extensively. If my child is enrolled in Ignite Christian Academy®, do I still control his schedule?
A: One of the benefits of Ignite Christian Academy is the flexibility of the schedule. You have the freedom to change your student's schedule, provided your student stays within the deadline for completing the course. In fact, you do not need to notify the Academy of a school day that has been missed. If, however, your student will not be working for a week or more, it is recommended that you inform the Academy.
Q: I'm not very knowledgeable in math. What should I do if I'm not able to teach my child academic concepts?
A: Academy teachers will answer academic questions in the Switched-On Schoolhouse® program using the message system and the problem notepad. For more extensive explanations, you or your student may call one of our Iowa teachers Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (CT). Students receive 60 minutes of free telephone support for every course in which they are enrolled. For example, a student enrolled in six courses starts with a total of 360 minutes that he or she can use to talk to a teacher in any department. Between our well-written curriculum, the regular SOS Teacher, and our call center teachers, your student will get plenty of help.
