About Me
I grew up in metro Detroit, where I also currently live with my husband and three sons. I love being outdoors, bike riding, reading, and cheering on my boys at their sporting events.
Favorite Verse
My favorite Bible verse is Ecclesiastes 3:1-8. “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.” I love this verse because as we journey through life and experience the different seasons of life, we may feel as though we are being left behind, not reaching a milestone as quickly as we might like, or trying to rush to the “next thing,” but this verse reminds us that there IS a season for everything, and God knows our time. There is such comfort in that.
First Job
I started babysitting at the age of 11. The first time a neighbor hired me to babysit her young son, I locked us out of the house! Luckily I lived down the street, so we went to my house until his mom came home. She hired me again though!
Hobbies
I enjoy biking, reading, and baking. I grew up playing the violin, so I hope to get back to that as well.
Bucket List Item
I would love to drive across the country with my kids when they are a bit older, stopping at national parks, and experiencing our beautiful nation.
Favorite Place
I love Mackinac Island. It is a small island in Lake Huron between Michigan’s Upper and Lower peninsula. No cars are allowed, so transportation is only by bike or horse. It is like traveling back in time, and I have been going there since I was a kid. The smells of the island are also wonderful with lilacs and fresh fudge.
Person I’d Like to Meet
I would love to travel back to the summer of 1787 to meet with America’s Founding Fathers during the Constitutional Convention, as they drafted and debated one of the most inspirational documents of human history.
