About Me
I am from Mississippi and have lived here my whole life. My husband and I have a puppy named Mabel. We are very involved in our church, where we volunteer with the youth group. I love to travel through my home state and take photographs of the land and the people.
Favorite Verse
“But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us. We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed; always carrying in the body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be manifested in our bodies. For we who live are always being given over to death for Jesus’ sake, so that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh. So death is at work in us, but life in you” (2 Corinthians 4:7-12).
First Job
My very first job was working as a server for grandmother’s catering company.
Hobbies
I am passionate about film photography and can turn my kitchen into a darkroom.
Bucket List Item
I would love to spend a summer in Europe. I would also love to eat my way through New York City!
Favorite Place
I spent several weeks in New Mexico and loved the landscape and the atmosphere there.
Person I’d Like to Meet
I would love to meet photographer Lewis Hine. Hine photographed children who worked in workhouses in the early 1900s. His photographs helped to restore dignity to his subjects through exposing the cruel reality that children and the poor faced in the early 1900s. His images ultimately brought about reform to the child labor laws. I would love to ask him about his experience and the impact it had on him.
