In 2nd grade history and geography, students develop an appreciation for others and learn how to be a good neighbor within a community. Full-color, print-based lessons in this online academy course include reading activities and hands-on learning exercises that encourage an understanding of concepts. Students are introduced to different community helpers, how neighborhood stores offer goods and services, and how farming and cities grow and change.
Topics include helping your neighbors, understanding other cultures, the reason for travel communication in our world, caring for our neighbors, and how groups in the community depend on each other. A section in this online academy course about communicating with God is also included. Course units contain quizzes and tests to evaluate progress and student mastery.
