In this course, you’ll deepen your understanding of Deaf culture and refine your communication through advanced grammar, storytelling, transitions, classifiers, and role-shifts. You’ll explore how language reflects the values, creativity, and resilience of the Deaf community—each person uniquely made in the image of God. Through real-world applications, media from Deaf perspectives, and cultural analysis, you’ll develop greater fluency and cultural humility, learning to communicate with clarity, empathy, and respect. As you discuss meaningful topics such as education, science, and advocacy, you’ll also reflect on how to use your ASL skills to serve others, build relationships, and live out Christ’s inclusive love. This course not only prepares you for future educational and career opportunities—it invites you to become a bridge-builder, using language to break down walls and reflect God’s heart for all people.
