Psychology
Throughout this course, students examine influences on human actions and beliefs, factors influencing behavior and perception, and basic psychological theories. In addition, students develop and apply their understanding of psychology through lessons and projects that require interaction and observation of others.
Topics of study throughout this one semester course include psychological fields and careers, values and expectations, free will vs determinism, social influence and conformity, consciousness and sleep, mental disorders, and much more.
Algebra II Fundamentals
Algebra II Fundamentals is a full-year, high school math course intended for students who have successfully completed the prerequisite course Algebra I Fundamentals. This course focuses on algebraic techniques and methods to develop student understanding of advanced number theory, concepts involving linear, quadratic and polynomial functions, and pre-calculus theories.
This course also integrates geometric concepts and skills throughout the units, as well as introducing students to basic trigonometric identities and problem solving. The 13-unit course includes two semester reviews and exams before concluding with a final exam.
Geometry Fundamentals
Geometry Fundamentals is a full year, high school math course for students who have successfully completed Algebra I Fundamentals. The course focuses on the skills and methods of linear, coordinate, and plane geometry. Students also gain solid experience with geometric calculations and coordinate plane graphing, methods of formal proof, and techniques of construction.
By the end of the course, students will understand defined terms, axioms, postulates, theories, trigonometric ratios, and more. The 13-unit course includes two semester reviews and exams before concluding with a final exam.
Algebra I Fundamentals
Algebra I Fundamentals emphasizes the development of algebraic fluency as students study the language of algebra and begin classifying and comparing numbers. Throughout this online course, students tackle lessons that focus on functions, linear equations, compound inequalities, exponential expressions, radicals, monomials, trinomials, polynomials, and quadratics.
Students are encouraged to use various types of reasoning to formulate and evaluate math problems and solutions. The 13-unit course includes two semester reviews and exams before concluding with a final exam.
English IV – Technical Writing
English IV – Technical Writing is a two-semester course intended to equip students with the writing skills needed to succeed in the workplace. It is designed for students who struggle with formal essay writing or who intend to enter the workforce immediately after graduation. All projects focus on refining technical writing skills, and each unit of the course contains quizzes and tests that evaluate progress and student mastery.
Units covered throughout the year include the worth of words, language structure, reading and research, medieval English literature, Elizabethan literature, 17th and 18th century English literature, romantic and Victorian poetry, and creative writing. Students spend time studying work by authors including John Milton, Jonathan Swift, Samuel Johnson, William Wordsworth, Lord Byron, Percy Bysshe Shelly, John Keats, and Elizabeth Barrett Browning. The course also examines selections from Beowulf, Canterbury Tales, Paradise Lost, and William Shakespeare’s play Hamlet in its entirety.

Spanish III
Ignitia Spanish III is a high school foreign language course that builds upon skills and concepts taught in Spanish II. The online course emphasizes the five c’s of communication, cultures, connections, comparisons, and communities. Course materials support students as they work to gain an understanding of the Hispanic culture, as well as proficiency in speaking, listening, reading, and writing in Spanish. Conversation projects are included at the end of each unit.
Upon completion of the year-long course, students should be able to carry on an everyday conversation in Spanish, write accurately and appropriately to communicate with other Spanish speakers, listen to and understand passages spoken in Spanish, read and understand passages in Spanish, and demonstrate an understanding of Hispanic countries and their corresponding cultures.
