Great as a refresher course, pre-algebra is a full-semester math elective that introduces the use of mathematical equations to solve algebraic problems. Topics in the first semester include whole numbers, fractions, decimals, percents, ratios, and proportions. Students in this course from our online academy learn to calculate length, area, and volume in basic two-dimensional and three-dimensional geometric figures.
Additional topics include solids, variables, equations, formulas, probability, and statistics. Helping your high schooler prepare for upper-level algebra, this introductory course from our online academy is a wonderful overview for remedial work as material repeats fundamentals taught in 8th grade math.
