A quick look at Ignite Christian Academy's website shows visitors that we are a Christian school. However, I am sure we would all agree that being a Christian school is much more than a label.
One of the key verses in the Bible that speaks to education is Deuteronomy 6:7, which says, "And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up."
This verse is a portion of what Moses tells the Israelites as he explains God's law to them. The verse instructs parents to teach their children about God's will for our lives consistently and continually. It should be part of everything parents do. Christian education is an extension of this command. Christian schools partner with parents to assist them in teaching students the truth revealed in the Bible.
This definition shows that Ignite Christian Academy's identity as a Christian school is much more than a label or the scattering of Bible verses throughout our curriculum. At Ignite Christian Academy, the teaching of biblical truth is integrated into all that we do. It is taught in our courses. Teachers discuss it with students individually and in online classrooms. Being a Christian school means that God's word is part of everything we do.
