Ignite Christian Academy has selected a group of eight exceptional students to participate in an elementary leadership group. This group was selected by the elementary teachers for the confidence, class participation, positive behavior, and communication skills they exhibit during online classes and phone conversations with their teachers. The elementary teachers feel that the chosen leaders will be exceptional role models for younger students and that their talents can be used in a positive, constructive way.
The eight individuals that were selected include Rachel J., Sarah S., Kyle B., Colin H., Taylor B., Sarah L., Spencer F., and Daniel C. The leadership group plans to create student-led online classes for younger ICA students. The goal is to have the group prepare virtual lessons, with teacher guidance, that will be beneficial for early elementary students. The virtual lessons will also be a great tool for the presenters, as it will allow them to use and develop their skills in public speaking, organization, communication, creativity, and teamwork.
The first student-led class will take place on Wednesday, May 15 at 2:00pm (CT). The class will explore the parts of a story and break down a well-known children's favorite to identify the plot, setting, characters, theme, and main ideas. Please watch the online class e-mail for more information about the course.
