In August 2009, Ignite Christian Academy® began offering Christian education courses for grades 3-12 through Switched-On Online™. To help distance learning students get the most from their online courses, here are a few answers to some of the most common questions students ask when beginning a course with Switched-On Online:
How do I ask my teacher a question?
There are two ways to ask your teacher a question. First, send your teacher a message through the message center. You can also leave your teacher a note on a question in a lesson. This is a great way to ask your teacher about a specific question in the curriculum.
How do I submit my project?
To submit your project, you must first type your project into the document provided in the project instructions. Once you have completed your project, save it on your computer and upload it at the bottom of your screen. Then, click the "Finish Assignment" button at the bottom of your screen to notify your teacher that you have finished the project. If you do not click "Finish Assignment," your teacher will not be able to grade it.
Why have I been required to do this lesson again?
In order to successfully complete a lesson, you must earn a grade of 80% or higher. If you receive a score that's less than 80%, you will be required to attempt the lesson again before moving on in the course. This gives you another opportunity to answer all the questions correctly. If you are really stuck on some of the questions, then you should ask your teacher by using the help button.
What is the "reference or glossary and credits" lesson?
This lesson is at the beginning of each unit and contains all the important information and terms in that unit. Although this section does not include any questions, you must open it and click "Finish Assignment" to move on to the next lesson.
My work is blocked. What do I do?
If your work is blocked, you need to contact your teacher. Your teacher will be happy to unblock your work or let you know if there's anything you need to complete before moving on in the course. You may also call your Academy Services Representative to have your work unblocked.
