Kip Chapman, a sixth grade student at Ignite Christian Academy®, is on his way to earning a black belt in karate. He also enjoys reading and playing the trumpet in his spare time. Kip and his family live in Illinois and enjoy going to the YMCA, skiing, and playing board games.
One word to characterize Kip is outgoing. He enjoys talking with people and strives to include people in his life. When there is a kid who is not doing well or does not seem to have many friends, Kip is the one to befriend him. He also goes out of his way to help others, whether that is at the grocery store or right at home. His parents commented on how impressed they are that Kip makes it a priority to love those around him.
This is Kip's first year as a distance learning student in Ignite Christian Academy. His family chose the ICA accredited program because it was recommended by a Christian school in their area. His personal experience with the program has not been seamless, but he has taken to it well. The academy has been a good challenge for him academically, and he enjoys being able to do his curriculum work online.
His teachers and academy services representative nominated Kip because of his desire to excel in his education and his positive attitude. Mrs. Simons commented, "It's fun to grade his work! He is a conscientious and creative student who works hard in all his subjects and is not afraid to ask questions. He shines in language arts by making each project his own through incorporating his interests and ideas."
Alongside his father, Kip is currently reading the Left Behind series by Tim LeHaye and Jerry Jenkins. He is learning more about what it means to be a Christian and the importance of understanding Scripture. His world view has changed this year, and ICA has been helping him see God in his schoolwork.
Congratulations, Kip, on being ICA's March Student of the Month!
