Meet Franco Salvagio, a Florida native who recently completed 4th grade and enjoys creating art in his free time.
More about Me…
I live in a small town near the Atlantic Ocean, and I like to go camping at the beach in my free time. I am creative, funny, and when I get interested in something I can’t stop myself from doing it, so I guess I am determined too.
The Perks of Distance Learning
I learned about ICA about one year ago when my mom was looking for a homeschool program and found the perfect school for me online. We needed a program to help us stay on track our first year schooling at home. Having online teachers was important too, because my mom and dad are business owners. Being able to do my work anywhere and at any time is my favorite part of distance learning. The thing that has surprised me most about ICA is that my teachers seem to be interested in my artwork and want to see my drawings.
Passion for Art
When I became interested in art, I started drawing planets by creating circles and squiggly lines on whiteboards. I could erase them and draw them all over again and again. I am now inspired by Japanese anime artwork. My favorite things to draw are Dragon Ball Z and Manga 3D action characters because they show strength, power, and a lot of emotion.
Favorite Pastimes
In my free time, I like to make up comics, bowl, do gymnastics, and play video games and soccer. I am a little on the hyperactive side, so my mom has put me in activities she thinks that I would be good in. This year we started a homeschool bowling group together. I also study YouTube artist in my free time so I can get better at drawing. We go to church twice a week, too.
Achievements and Dreams
My artwork is my proudest accomplishment so far because all of my drawings are done quickly and freehand. Someday I want to be an artist and have my own anime show because I enjoy being creative. My advice for others is not to be scared to try new things. Try to find something and be good at it.
