The September 2022 high school student of the month at Ignite Christian Academy (ICA) is Tori Isenberg, a sophomore from the west bank of the Mississippi River not far upstream from Minneapolis. With aspirations to be a professional writer, Tori is living the words of Colossians 3:17 as a student at ICA, “Whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”
“Tori has worked extremely hard in my classes and is always checking in on ways to improve her work,” Marcus Lewis wrote in honoring the Minnesotan. “She makes our class better by asking questions that benefit the rest of the class during Open Office Hour Zooms that I offer. She is a great student who wants to produce the best work possible!”
My ICA Story
I have been a student at ICA for about 6 years. My parents were looking for a better way for me to learn because I was having trouble. ICA provides teacher help from 9 a.m. through 3 p.m. I have found that very helpful as I have gone through my courses.
Why I Love ICA
My favorite part of online learning is that I can easily do my schoolwork in other places. Even if I had to go to another part of the world, I would be able to do my schoolwork.
My Favorite Subject
My favorite subject is English. I like it because I get to learn to use my words better and communicate clearly. When I do learn that, I can use my gifts of communication better for God’s plan for me.
My Family
My family owns a century-old farmhouse. I have five other siblings, one brother and four sisters. I like to laugh with them and read with them.
My Hobbies
I love reading and writing. I write books the best if I’m writing them for people I care about.
My Dream Job
I would love to be able to write stories all day long. I would want this job because I would be able to earn my living with something I really enjoy.
My Words of Wisdom
Always persevere in your schoolwork. It can be really stressful at times and can seem like we will never get it done, but once we remember that we are doing our work to please and serve God, that can make all the difference if we decide to trust him. He can help us, even if it’s a stressful project in school.
