As we look forward to a new school year at Ignite Christian Academy, there are a few changes and improvements that ICA is excited to offer students and families. The changes include both course offerings and policy updates.
High school honors courses are an exciting new offering at Ignite Christian Academy. Beginning August 1, English IV Honors and U.S. History Honors will be available in Ignitia and Switched-On Schoolhouse. High school juniors and seniors who meet a minimum GPA requirement of 2.75 are eligible to sign up for honors courses. For more information or to register, students should contact their Educational Coordinator.
Another change that will affect high school courses beginning August 1 is the way that participation projects are listed in core courses. Students taking high school core courses will still be required to complete participation projects, but the projects will show up in the students' gradebook on their account. Participation projects will no longer show directly in Ignitia or Switched-On Schoolhouse. The requirements of participation projects will remain the same.
A third change will affect the number of attempts each student has to meet the pass threshold in Ignitia. Starting August 1, students will have five attempts to meet the pass threshold. This will allow teachers to be more involved with students and reach out to offer help. Students are welcome to request additional attempts on lessons by messaging their teacher.
I'm looking forward to another exciting year with Ignite Christian Academy!
