Summer is a great time of year; the weather is warm and the days are long. There isn't a better time to get physically active and in the process, earn a physical education (P.E.) credit. Many activities lend themselves to summer. Golfing, swimming, running, and biking are just a few, but how about getting involved in your local YMCA or gym's summer recreational program?
Many gyms have leagues or clubs that you can join to play a sport that you may not have access to during the school year. Getting involved in a volleyball, softball, soccer, or baseball league not only gets you active, but it also promotes positive social relationships that may not be available during the course of the school year.
What better way to learn about teamwork, commitment and perseverance than through sport? Sports are a great way for a student to feel that he is a part of something and that he shares a common goal with others. The league does not need to be super-competitive; just being together and having fun playing a sport can be the confidence or ego boost a young teenager needs.
By participating in such a league or program, students can use that time to earn P.E. credit through Ignite Christian Academy. By enrolling in our physical fitness course, you are able to use your outside activity to fill out the P.E. logs which are required for the course. This can be a great way to get a jump start on the next school year, not to mention improve your physical and emotional health as well.
If you are interested in enrolling in physical fitness over the summer, you can contact your academy service representative, who can get your enrolled and off and "running" in a couple days!
