The elementary department at the academy just finished up its second annual summer reading challenge. The following students met their summer reading goals and were asked to participate in an online class book share where they could tell other students at the class about their favorite books and authors. Reading is a great way to promote literacy, imagination, and learning. It can bring students to new worlds and open doors to places that one can only read about. Reading also helps students learn new facts and develop a passion for life-long learning.
Though reading is a fun, educational activity, summer is a busy time of year full of different activities that can pull students away from reading. With many students starting school soon, Ignite Christian Academy teachers would like to encourage elementary students to get a step up on education with our summer reading challenge.
