Spring is finally here, and with it comes an itching to shrug off the schoolwork and get outside to see the blue skies and hear the birds sing. To help your student stay on track for finishing the school year on time, here are a few spring fever cures you can try today.
1. Do School Outside – If you can't fight it, embrace it. Take books or laptops to the patio or backyard if the weather is fine. To stay focused, avoid crowded areas and make sure your student has a proper table and chair for good posture.
2. Take Field Trips – No matter what lesson your student is on, you can always find a corresponding place for a field trip that applies to the topic. For example, visit a farm if you're learning about animals, stop by a factory or laboratory if you're covering equations, or see a local newspaper office for your language arts lesson.
3. Vary the Routine – If school is becoming too predictable, change things up by switching some of the subject areas to different times of the day. You can also change the pace. Try switching topics more quickly to keep your student's mind engaged.
