A new school year has started at Ignite Christian Academy! I would like to give a special welcome to all of our new students and families. We are glad that you have joined Ignite Christian Academy.
I also want to take this opportunity to mention a few important items concerning the new school year. You may have read about some of these items before, but I feel they are important and want to ensure all students and parents are aware.
This year, one of the exciting new offerings at Ignite Christian Academy are high school honors courses. English IV Honors and U.S. History Honors are now available in Ignitia and Switched-On Schoolhouse. These rigorous courses are available to high school juniors and seniors with a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher. Students may sign up for honors courses with their educational coordinator.
In addition, participation projects are listed differently in high school course courses this year. Students taking high school core courses will still be required to complete participation projects, but instead of showing directly in Ignitia or Switched-On Schoolhouse, the projects will appear in the gradebook on the students' account. The requirements for participation projects will remain the same.
Lastly, the number of attempts each student has to meet the pass threshold in Ignitia has changed to five attempts. This allows teachers to be more involved with students and reach out to offer help. Students are welcome to request additional attempts on lessons by messaging their teacher.
I'm looking forward to another exciting year at Ignite Christian Academy!
Mr. Joseph Bakker
Principal
