Elementary teachers at Ignite Christian Academy have many exciting new activities lined up for students this fall. From check-in chats with teachers to exciting online classrooms, see what’s in store for your distance learner this year!
Study Skills Class for Online Learners
Equip your elementary student with the study skills needed to succeed in computer-based learning! At 10:00 a.m. (CT) on October 27, the elementary department will host a study skills class recommended for all elementary students who use ICA's CD-ROM and online programs. Topics of discussion include everything from note taking, study tips, and review strategies to taking advantage of academy resources to maximize learning.
Monthly Check-in Chats
To enhance the educational experience at Ignite Christian Academy, teachers will reach out to all students and parents on a monthly basis to discuss student progress, struggles, and triumphs. Maintaining a line of regular communication with each ICA family allows teachers to help prevent issues and ensure that your student develops healthy study habits that complement learning with our print and online curriculum. Feel free to return phone calls from your teachers and keep them informed of all that is happening in your student's schooling.
Readers' Theatre Classes
At the end of October, students and teachers will begin working together to creatively present some short skits in this new online class. ICA's five elementary teachers will host the first event, and students who display qualities of leadership, dedication, discipline, determination, creativity, and an interest in online classes will be asked to join the group of presenters at subsequent readers' theatre classes.
The elementary teachers at ICA look forward to sharing these new activities with your student. Encourage your distance learner to join the events to see what they're all about!
