This April, Ignite Christian Academy students are looking forward to a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Washington, D.C., and historic Williamsburg, Virginia.
On April 17, 2017, 20 ICA students and two chaperones will meet at Reagan National Airport in Arlington, Virginia, to board a sightseeing bus for Williamsburg. There, the group will participate in a special devotional discussion on God’s hand in American history. After a good night of sleep, a hearty breakfast, and devotions at the hotel, the tour bus will take students to the Jamestown Settlement, Governor’s Palace, and Colonial Williamsburg to experience different aspects of colonial life and meet wigmakers, blacksmiths, and other people of the past.
That evening, the group will return to Washington to complete the adventure with three more exciting days of touring. Visits to Mount Vernon, Capitol Hill, the White House, and the Smithsonian Institution will be supplemented with stops at all the war memorials and presidential monuments. Each day is packed with activities and opportunities for meaningful discussions and prayers led by a WorldStrides course leader. The trip departs from Washington, D.C., on the evening of April 21.
All of the meals, bus travel, admissions, fees, and hotel accommodations are included. At the hotel, WorldStrides provides night supervision and a hotel coordinator during the entire stay. Additionally, students can earn high school credit for their participation in the tour.
The best news is that you can still sign up for the trip! The final date for full payment isn’t due until February 1, 2017, and we have room for more! If you’re interested in joining us, contact Mrs. Marcia Klimes for more information and details about registering.
