Ignite Christian Academy MAP Test Scores Exceed National Average
Each year we require our third through tenth grade students to take the Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) test. In fact, we ask them to take it in both the fall and the spring. The MAP test is different from many standardized tests in that it is taken online and is adaptive to the student's ability. For example, when your third grader begins the test, the first question will be a typical third grade level question. If your child answers the question correctly, the next question will be slightly more difficult. As your child continues to answer questions correctly, the test gets progressively more difficult. When your child answers a question incorrectly, the next question is adjusted to be slightly more manageable. Thus, the MAP test is successful in identifying the actual academic level of the child as it adapts back and forth to find the level of the student's academic comprehension, knowledge, and skills.

Five Dual Credit Courses Available Next School Year
Ignite Christian Academy is excited to announce the extension of its dual credit program into the 2013-2014 school year. A total of five dual credit courses will be available through the program to full-time juniors and seniors with a current GPA of 3.0 or higher.

ICA Senior Earns First Place
Micah Dunkleberger, a senior at ICA, took the first place spot in the Senior Engineering Division at the Oklahoma State Science and Engineering Fair.
Micah started her journey to the state level of competition on February 2 at the Bartlesville District Science and Engineering Fair. There she earned second place in the Senior Engineering Division and was chosen to move on to the state competition. This was Micah's third opportunity to represent ICA at the Oklahoma State Science and Engineering Fair. On March 7-8 she competed in the same division and won first prize.

Elementary Teachers Celebrate National Library Week
To celebrate National Library Week from April 14-20, the elementary teachers here at ICA have decided to hold a week of classes dedicated to reading. We are planning daily classes for our present students to encourage them to join in our love of books.
