New Teachers for 2018-19
For the first time in the 25-year history of Ignite Christian Academy, enrollment at our online Christian school has exceeded 3,000 students. As a result, ICA is excited to announce the addition of 13 new staff members for the 2018-19 school year.

Ignite Christian Academy Expands Dual Enrollment Program with Houston Baptist University Partnership
Ignite Christian Academy (ICA) has expanded its dual enrollment program with a new partnership through Houston Baptist University (HBU) for high school students who are interested in earning college credit.
Eligible ICA high school juniors and seniors will be able to save time and money toward a college degree by enrolling in select online college courses offered through the HBU Pampell Online Division. The program expands ICA’s existing dual enrollment program, which currently offers courses through the University of Northwestern — St. Paul. The program allows students to earn high school and college credit simultaneously.

ICA Adds 9 New Foreign Language Courses
Ignite Christian Academy is excited to announce the addition of 9 foreign language courses, including new elementary and middle school electives in French and Spanish, as well as French III for high school students.

Teacher Tricks for Successful Online Learning
As an elementary teacher at an online school, I often get the question from parents, “What are your teacher tricks for a successful school year?” There are a number of things that seem to play a role in the success of students in this environment but being open to change is one of the most important. You need to give your student time to adapt to a new way of learning. Some kids take a month or so to get into a positive rhythm in the online environment. However, if it is taking more than a couple weeks to start seeing positive progress, be sure to reach out to the support staff at the school to get specific help and suggestions for your child.

What Christmas Is All About
It’s that time of year when Christmas is around the corner. The excitement of the holidays has already been building. For some of us, the preparations may be as exciting as they are for my daughter. Already in mid-November, she was making homemade gifts for each person in the family, wrapping them, and placing them in the corner where the Christmas tree would stand a couple of weeks later. Since then she has been joyfully practicing Christmas carols on the piano and violin.

2018 Graduation Ceremonies
Join us for one of Ignite Christian Academy’s 2018 graduations. ICA will host three graduations, two regional and one virtual ceremony.
The Dallas area regional ceremony will be held in Allen, Texas, on May 11, 2018, at Cottonwood Creek Baptist Church. The Orlando area regional ceremony will be held on June 8, 2018, at Eastland Christian School in in Orlando, Florida. In addition, the academy will offer a virtual ceremony on May 25, 2018, as an option for students unable to travel to one of our scheduled ceremony locations.
