This spring, Ignite Christian Academy is offering students ages 14 and older the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to tour our nation’s capital with their teachers and peers. The six-day trip to Washington, D.C., and Williamsburg, Virginia, is scheduled for April 17-22 and includes tours of well-known monuments and museums. Rock Rapids, IA (June 30, 2016) – Ignite Christian Academy graduate Michaela Sigmon was crowned Miss Virginia 2016 on Saturday, June 25. The Virginia native will represent her home state in the Miss America 2017 pageant this fall.
Twenty-year-old Sigmon graduated from Ignite Christian Academy in 2014, and according to Principal Joseph Bakker, she was an excellent student, as well as a member of the school’s chapter of the National Honor Society.

Rock Rapids, IA (April 14, 2016) – As the end of the school year approaches, Ignite Christian Academy seniors from across the globe are preparing to participate in the online school’s regional and virtual graduation ceremonies.
The 89 seniors registered to participate reside in 30 states, the U.S. territory of Guam, and four countries, including The Bahamas, Canada, Nigeria, and The Philippines. [Read more…]
Traveling to the Bahamas to study in a summer marine biology program was truly one of the most amazing, enriching, and formative experiences I have ever had in all of my fifteen years!
Motivation is a good thing, right? Motivation helps answer questions like “Why do we get things done?” and “Why do we choose to engage in one activity over others?” Essentially, motivation is having a reason to accomplish something. Because it is a primary driver that leads to success, let’s take a moment to learn a little more about motivation as it relates to coursework, learning, and day-to-day life.
Ignite Christian Academy is pleased to share that we honor scholarships from Folds of Honor, a nonprofit organization that awards scholarships to children of those killed or disabled in military service.
In addition, we’re pleased to announce that we’ll be awarding our own military scholarship* to one full-time ICA student who applies for but does not receive financial assistance through Folds of Honor. [Read more…]
