Fourth grader Harris Robinson is the February 2022 student of the month at Ignite Christian Academy (ICA). A resident of the Crossroads of America in south-central Indiana, Harris is enjoying his second year at ICA, and his teachers are enjoying working with him as well.

“Harris is an excellent student who excels at making sure he writes complete, thoughtful answers for short answer/essay questions and projects,” wrote elementary teacher Della Glandorf in nominating him for this month’s award. “He asks for help when he needs it and is so polite when working with me or writing help messages.” [Read more…]

The January 2022 student of the month is Abigail Wheaton, a first-year student at Ignite Christian Academy (ICA). A sixth grader who hails from the Commonwealth of Virginia, Abigail has been on 13 cruise ships in her young life and also cruised through her first semester at Ignite Christian Academy.

“Abigail is new to ICA and has dove in with figuring out all the technology,” wrote Kelly Weymouth, who nominated her for this month’s honor. “She regularly participates in FlipGrid questions and has a great and positive attitude all the time.” [Read more…]

The December 2021 elementary student of the month at Ignite Christian Academy (ICA) is Joi Smith, a 4th grade student who lives in the shadows of the beautiful Klein Drakenstein Mountains in the Western Cape of South Africa. A third-year student at ICA, Joi has been rewarded with this month’s honor for her hard work and progress in her math studies.

“Joi has been diligently working on her mathematics,” wrote elementary teacher Marianne Jefferies, who nominated Joi for student of the month. “She has been booking virtual sessions with me to prepare for her math tests. She uses math talk and strategies to work through every problem. These sessions are helping her excel on her tests. I have seen such an improvement in her math confidence already this year. Merry Christmas, ICA families! Each Christmas season, I rejoice in the hope I have in the Lord, and I know that this year, in particular, God is calling me to be still. I want to encourage you with the same challenge. Christmas can often be a time of filled schedules, and it can be easy to get lost in the noise of the holidays, even if your schedule is full of well-intentioned things and church events. Please keep in mind, however, that there will be limited teacher support during this time. From Monday, December 20, through Thursday, December 23, live, on-demand academic support will only be available from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. (CT). Pre-scheduled individual student appointments will be available as normal. All ICA Staff, including education coordinators, will be unavailable from Friday, December 24, through Friday, December 31. The November 2021 student of the month at Ignite Christian Academy (ICA) is Cesar Melendez, a freshman from South Carolina. A first-year student at ICA, Cesar enjoys playing basketball and has quickly learned to love online learning.
