National Honor Society Invitations to Be Sent Soon
Students who meet the qualifications for candidacy for the Ignite Christian Academy chapter of the National Honor Society should soon receive an email invitation to apply for membership. The National Honor Society recognizes high school students for leadership, character, academic achievement, and service. Acknowledging much more than achievement, the organization seeks to help students grow by encouraging leadership and service.

ICA Senior Earns First Place
Micah Dunkleberger, a senior at ICA, took the first place spot in the Senior Engineering Division at the Oklahoma State Science and Engineering Fair.
Micah started her journey to the state level of competition on February 2 at the Bartlesville District Science and Engineering Fair. There she earned second place in the Senior Engineering Division and was chosen to move on to the state competition. This was Micah's third opportunity to represent ICA at the Oklahoma State Science and Engineering Fair. On March 7-8 she competed in the same division and won first prize.

To celebrate National Library Week from April 14-20, the elementary teachers here at ICA have decided to hold a week of classes dedicated to reading. We are planning daily classes for our present students to encourage them to join in our love of books.

Student Writing Features Products Made in America
A couple weeks ago, Mrs. Blind presented an online classroom called "Made in America" where she shared information about different items invented in the states. The class explored cars, tools, toys, and food items. She then asked the students to conduct their own research to discover the interesting things that their states manufacture. [Read more…]
National Honor Society Inducts 20 New Members
The Ignite Christian Academy chapter of the National Honor Society welcomed 20 new members during a special induction ceremony on January 31. Friends and family watched as the new candidates recited the pledge of membership and received official membership. Since the ceremony, the ICA chapter has met to discuss activities for the rest of the school year. Ignite Christian Academy congratulates the following students on receiving membership.

4 Fun Crafts to Celebrate Dr. Seuss
March 2 marks the birth of a well-known children’s author, Dr. Seuss. Born Theodor Seuss Geisel in Springfield, Massachusetts, in 1904, Seuss grew up listening to his mother recite rhymes to him before bedtime. More than 100 years later, parents across the globe do the same for their children with his rhymes.
Reading and learning how to rhyme can help expand a child’s vocabulary and reading comprehension. Consider setting aside some time this week to celebrate the life of Dr. Seuss by pairing these fun crafts with one of his books.
