Assistant Principal Inducted into NAFA Hall of Fame
Rock Rapids, IA (August 19, 2014) – Ignite Christian Academy, an online distance learning program for grades K-12, congratulates Assistant Principal Tim De Jong on his induction into the North American Fastpitch Association (NAFA) Hall of Fame last week in the Quad Cities.
De Jong played in eight NAFA World Series between 2002 and 2012. During his time with the Sioux Falls Sox, his team won the NAFA World Series AA Championship in 2007, and placed second and third in the same division in 2009 and 2010.

ICA’s Summer Reading Rocks Challenge
This month, the elementary teachers would like to encourage all elementary students to pick up some good books and participate in Ignite Christian Academy's summer "Reading Rocks" challenge!

Celeste Kellogg (Class of 2012) Joins Anti-Bullying Music Tour
Rock Rapids, IA (August 13, 2014) – Ignite Christian Academy congratulates 2012 graduate Celeste Kellogg on joining the Allstar Nation Tour. Beginning in September, the country pop singer and former Radio Disney star will perform alongside other young musical artists on the three-month anti-bullying music tour.
Throughout the fall, the crew will visit more than 100 schools across the state of Texas to share their music, personal experience with bullying, and prevention tips.

ICA Grad Earns Title of Top-Ranked U.S. Junior Epee Fencer
Rock Rapids, IA (August 5, 2014) – Ignite Christian Academy congratulates recent graduate Amanda Sirico for earning the title of top-ranked junior female epee fencer in the United States.
In her final season before heading to college, the 18-year-old Sirico competed in world cups in France, Germany, Spain, Qatar, Brazil, Cuba, and Costa Rica. In addition to being ranked first on the junior circuit, she is also ranked fifth on the senior circuit in the United States.

New Look LIFEPACs Now Available
Rock Rapids, IA (July 31, 2014) – Newly redesigned LIFEPAC courses are now available for Ignite Christian Academy students in grades 7, 8, and 9.
A total of 15 courses have been upgraded with a contemporary look. The changes include a refreshed design and updated images for LIFEPAC's interior, new covers and boxes, and updated theme colors for the five main subjects of Bible, history and geography, language arts, math, and science.

13 New SOS Courses Coming Soon
Rock Rapids, IA (July 10, 2014) – On August 1, Ignite Christian Academy will release 13 new courses to Switched-On Schoolhouse. Ranging from business and technology to health and fitness, the courses are designed to prepare students with life and career skills to be used after graduation. All courses will be available for grades 9-12.

Sixth Grader Wins Annual Academy Spelling Bee
On June 25, Ignite Christian Academy hosted its third annual Academy Spelling Bee. Fifteen students in grades K-6 used webcams to connect with and cheer on their classmates during the competition.
Sixth grader Victoria P. won the bee by spelling the word "enthusiastic."
