Meet Lilly Reininghaus
The February 2021 student of the month at Ignite Christian Academy is Lilly Reininghaus, a 5th grade student from New York who demonstrates the effectiveness of hard work in the classroom and in her own business.
“Lilly is one of the most outstanding students I have ever had the pleasure of having in my class,” wrote elementary teacher Kelly Kuehn in nominating Lilly for this month’s honor. “In school, Lilly makes top grades. Each and every assignment she works on is truly done with extraordinary effort, and she always lets her personality shine. She puts in 1000% effort. Lilly is a self-starter, intrinsically motivated to pursue her passions, and she understands the value of hard work and has proved that hard work, determination, and exhibiting her God-given talents can be a blessing to her and the world. Meet Rosalani Shilinsky
The January 2021 student of the month at Ignite Christian Academy is freshman Rosalani Shilinsky, an aspiring musician and a national champion cheerleader who is also impressive in the classroom.
“She is a fantastic student,” wrote Bible teacher Greg Kilgore who nominated her for this month’s award. “She loves to ask questions about the Bible and different subjects covered in class because she has a great desire to learn more.” [Read more…]
Meet Warrior Vanderlois
The December 2020 student of the month at Ignite Christian Academy is sophomore Warrior Vanderlois, a blacksmithing surfer who lives a stone’s throw from the Indian River Lagoon and Florida’s Atlantic Coast. In his first year as a student at ICA, Warrior has not only enjoyed getting acquainted with his new school, but his teachers have also appreciated having him in their classes.
“Aside from doing well in his course, the level of questions that he asks about the material go far beyond the scope of the course,” science teacher Trey Garzzillo wrote about Warrior in nominating him for this month’s award. “This demonstrates such a great understanding of the content, and I have really enjoyed answering the deep-dive questions! Important Holiday Break Information
Merry Christmas! We hope you will enjoy a break from your schoolwork this Christmas season. From Monday, December 21, through Friday, January 1, students will not be assigned any new work. Take these two weeks to spend time with your family and reflect on the birth of Christ. New Features and Communication Tools
This December, several new features and changes were launched that will affect students. First, teachers will now use Zoom to conduct one-on-one student meetings, live classes, and student club meetings. This change is in an effort to have higher security so there is no unmoderated student communication. Students and parents, I encourage you to only allow your students to interact with other ICA students on platforms that can be moderated by ICA staff. Meet William Gordon
The November 2020 student of the month at Ignite Christian Academy is William Gordon, a 6th grade student who lives in the shadows of the Las Vegas Range in Southern Nevada. After attending an online public school, William appreciates the Christian culture of ICA. Likewise, his teachers have appreciated his commitment and dedication to his schoolwork.
