Spring Semester MAP Testing
The Spring Semester has begun at ICA, and that means it’s time for our annual achievement testing.
ICA uses the Measure of Academic Progress (MAP) test through the Northwest Evaluation Association (NWEA) for our achievement testing. The MAP test is unique in that it is taken online and the test is adaptive to the student’s ability. When students begin the test, the first question is at their grade level. If the question is answered correctly, the next question is slightly more difficult. From there, the test gets progressively more difficult with each correct answer and slightly easier with each incorrect answer.

2020-21 Bible Requirement for Grades K-12

New Science Labs
As Biology and Chemistry students may have already noticed, ICA has begun using new lab activities during the 2020 spring semester.

Meet Anelda Bezuidenhout
The February 2020 student of the month is Anelda Bezuidenhout, a sophomore who lives in South Africa and enjoys working with robotics. Anelda was nominated to receive this month’s honor by her English teacher, Linda Kraft.

Meet Sarah Colabawala
The first student of the month in 2020 at Ignite Christian Academy is Sarah Colabawala, a freshman with a love for writing who currently lives on the Arabian Peninsula in Dubai. Sarah was nominated to receive this month’s honor by her psychology teacher, Heather Pearson.
“I have been so impressed by her diligence and interest in psychology,” Pearson said. “I get frequent messages from her where she is asking deeper questions and doing her own reading and research about ideas from the lesson that have caught her interest. The December 2019 student of the month is Emily Simants, a freshman at Ignite Christian Academy with a love for theatre and a dream to be a Broadway actress. Although Emily lives in Turkey near the Aegean Sea and the biblical city of Ephesus, living on another continent hasn’t stopped her from making numerous friends at ICA. [Read more…]
