Preparing to Enter a Bilingual Workforce
Students who graduate with foreign language skills hold a competitive advantage as they enter the workforce. The Center for Digital Education reports that, when surveyed, 97 percent of K-12 and 96 percent of higher education leaders consider training in language and multiculturalism necessary in order to compete within the global workforce.
Yet in 2012, Forbes reported that only 18 percent of Americans speak a second language while 53 percent of Europeans, and a growing number of individuals in other nations, are bilingual. It seems there is plenty of room for improvement and expansion of language education in the states.

Teachers Host Meet and Greet
On September 17, the elementary teachers at the academy came together for the benefit of ICA students. The teachers joined together to hold a meet and greet where each instructor shared a little personal information, allowing them to form a closer connection with the students. ICA teachers consider it a blessing to share their stories and interact on a more personal level with students.

Students who meet the qualifications for candidacy for the Ignite Christian Academy chapter of the National Honor Society should soon receive an email invitation to apply for membership. The National Honor Society recognizes high school students for leadership, character, academic achievement, and service. Acknowledging much more than achievement, the organization seeks to help students grow by encouraging leadership and service.
