Elementary Students Receive Leadership Honor
Ignite Christian Academy has selected a group of eight exceptional students to participate in an elementary leadership group. This group was selected by the elementary teachers for the confidence, class participation, positive behavior, and communication skills they exhibit during online classes and phone conversations with their teachers. The elementary teachers feel that the chosen leaders will be exceptional role models for younger students and that their talents can be used in a positive, constructive way.

Student Writing Features Products Made in America
A couple weeks ago, Mrs. Blind presented an online classroom called "Made in America" where she shared information about different items invented in the states. The class explored cars, tools, toys, and food items. She then asked the students to conduct their own research to discover the interesting things that their states manufacture. [Read more…]
Bonjour et Bienvenue to French Club
Last fall, an invitation was sent to all French students to start "Le club de français" with the goals to practice and learn more about the French language and culture, as well as to get to know other French students at Ignite Christian Academy. Since then, it has been an absolute delight to see friendships develop and learn that sometimes students even "meet" outside the club to study French together!

Join the Elementary Book Club
An ICA Book Club has become an exciting addition to the online class schedule for elementary students. This year, the club has already read The Trumpet of the Swan by E.B. White and Flat Stanley's Worldwide Adventure #9: The US Capital Commotion by Jeff Brown and Macky Pamintuan. Students are currently reading Little House in the Big Woods by Laura Ingalls Wilder, a historical story of a little girl and her family growing up in a little log cabin on the edge of the Big Woods in Wisconsin in the 1870s.

Breaking the Ice Social Event Planned for January 30
Each January, the roads and fields outside the Ignite Christian Academy office in Northwest Iowa are often covered in snow and ice. That's why this month's social event is geared toward breaking the ice!
Sometimes it can be hard to get to know new people, especially if they live hundreds of miles away. With that in mind, ICA will host the Breaking the Ice social event on January 30 at 3 p.m. (CT), where 7th-12th grade students at ICA will have the opportunity to break the ice and warm up to some of their classmates.
